Musicians, music listeners, and music lovers: this is a documentary that you have to see! Artifact follows the intense lawsuit between 30 Seconds to Mars and their label, EMI. After selling 3 million copies of their album, A Beautiful Lie, the band was still somehow 2.7 million dollars in debt. Front man Jared Leto looked into this situation and decided that he and his band were going to opt out of their contract. EMI sued the band for $30 million for breach of contract for failing to deliver the third album on it’s five-album contract. Jared Leto says that they were legally terminating their contract due to the fact that in California, you can’t be bound to a contract for more than seven years.
